ERV Sigorta  in Turkey has signed a new pan-European contract with Sunexpress.

SunExpress was founded in October 1989 as a subsidiary company of Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines. Today SunExpress is the market leader in charter flights between Germany and Turkey as well as one of the largest scheduled carriers between Europe and southern Turkey

Under the new agreement,ERV will deliver online travel insurance solutions to customers, across Sunexpress core-markets: Turkey, Germany, Switzerland and Austria. Other countries will follow the upcoming period.Customers are offered travel insurance during the booking process, with a range of competitive quotes provided by ERV and it’s ETI Group Partners.

This agreement is another confirmation of ERV’s strategy and the excellent cooperation between the International Sales Team and the Turkish ERV Company.

Also this year our colleagues from Europeesche Verzekeringen in the Netherlends offer the members of the ‘ Association De Friesche Elf Cities ‘ the possibility to cancel or abort the holidays as the elfstedentocht will officically take off..

 Once the words are spoken by the chairman of the Eleven Cities Tour organization it seems all Dutch go mad (even those not really into the event, can’t help making comments about it). They collectively pack up some warm clothing and skates and head for the north, to the city of Leeuwarden. Shops manage to get all things orange and Frisian on the shelves within a day and skate sharpeners make over hours.

When these skaters have already booked their holidays or if they are already on holiday, the Europeesche insurance covers cancellation fees. If they have concluded the Europeesche travel insurance, also, after consultation with the Europeesche helpline, return travel costs will be reimbursed.

The tour, almost 200 km in length, is conducted on frozen canals, rivers and lakes between the eleven historic Frisian cities: Leeuwarden, Sneek, IJlst, Sloten, Stavoren, Hindeloopen, Workum, Bolsward, Harlingen, Franeker, Dokkum, then returning to Leeuwarden. The tour is not held every year, mostly because the ice is not thick enough every Dutch winter, and also because about 15,000 amateur skaters may take part, putting high requirements on the quality of the ice. As of 9 February 2012 (2012 -02-09) the last tours were held in 1985, 1986 and 1997. The rules allow the tour to be held only if the ice is, and remains, at least 15 centimetres thick along the entire course. All skaters must be members of the Association of the Eleven Frisian Cities. A starting permit is required. Skaters must collect a stamp in each city, and at three secret check points, and must finish the course before midnight.

Europeiska in Sweden is since 1920 the expert on travel insurance and travel safety and a major actor on the Swedish market for leisure and corporate travel insurance as well as for insurance for personnel stationed abroad. On February 1, 2012 Europeiska was renamed to ERV.

The preparation for our name change has been going on since September 2011. For us it has been very important to communicate that being One ERV is not only a name change but also that we, as a company, now is an international player more than ever. We have been working according to 5 guiding principles to meet our brand goal of becoming One ERV:

• Everyone with a relation to Europeiska shall be transformed about the migration plan before market entry (1st February.)
• All employees in direct contact with customers shall use consistent arguments/statements for migration to ERV.
• Europeiska brand equity shall be transformed to ERV.
• A selection of symbolic improvements and iconic offerings (brand utilities shall be used to build ERV awareness and preference.
• Everything we say and do when launching ERV shall be perceived as adding value to the customers.

In Sweden we have therefore used our launch of our new website as well as the launch of an annual insurance as brand utilities to deliver on the brand promises.

All employees in Sweden have been acting as “ambassadors” since September by informing the customers about the brand change and our new possibilities when acting as One ERV. The constant flow of information has been the cruel tool to reach out to as many as possible about Europeiska becoming ERV.

During fall we communicated in all advertising campaigns and material under the “Europeiska” brand that Europeiska will become ERV. To spread our new brand further and increase the awareness we will from 1 st of February communicate our new brand with a jingle in commercial radio, ads in the daily newspapers and at Sweden’s biggest airport Arlanda to mention a few of our brand activities.

During  the biggest travel trade fair in Poland– Tour Salon- which recently took place in Poznań , our ERV branch inPoland introduced also the  new ERV- logo, having a presence with a very profesional booth.

From this date on we have started calling ourselves ERV instead of using the local name “Europejskie”. Some more months need to pass until the “Europejskie” will disappear totally from the market, because many marketing materials used by touroperators are still on market.

The communication started with the appearance at the fairs, and was followed by the press conference which took place in the premises of Polish Press Agency.

The aim of the press conference was to communicate the big changes to the media. A lot of journalists appeared, which resulted in articles about ERV rebranding in every trade magazine or publication. Those articles generated great interest in Polish Branch, its performance and plans for the future.

ERV China will be the Silver Sponsor of the 2012 China Airlines Ancillary Revenue Summit at March 27th and 28th in Shanghai.

It is the 4th time now that the  China AAR Summit will be organized and all previous Summits were educational experiences for the all attending delegates where new ancillary concepts and ideas were introduced to the Chinese airlines. It created a platform for these airline executives to understand what exactly ancillary revenue is and how it could fit into their overall business operations. In 2012, China AAR Summit will continue focusing on the international and domestic development of ancillary services. In 2011, ancillary revenue is estimated to be worth $32.5 billion but some reports show this could increase to $100 billion as la carte services via travel agency involvement. Though “best results” for airlines ancillary revenue equal just under a third of ticket revenue despite predictions from some that earnings from ancillaries could one day make flying free, other sources believe airlines will continue to sell ancillaries via a number of different technologies. Can airlines power ancillary revenue with digital media and better WiFi platforms? Whether airlines will become a retailer who offers passengers la carte services such as baggage fees?  This summit will bring together key executives from international and domestic airlines onto one platform to discuss innovative ways in creating new ancillary streams for their own carriers. The event will also serve as an important learning & networking platform for international carriers, ancillary product & service suppliers and also potential partners in this industry to form better ideas and support domestic airlines in boosting ancillary revenue growth in this promising market.

On January 1, 2012 our Spanish brand Europea Seguros de Viaje was rebranded as ERV. The action takes part in accordance with the Strategy Map in order to transform ERV in an international organization on our way to become ONE ERV.

As was planned the last year all subsidiaries of ERV will use the same brand over the next year.

This means our brand becomes much clearer for our customers because our name will be recognizable across the world. One name, one brand, and one logo with the same corporate design just as our Spanish colleagues have adopted in the beginning of 2012.

The new brand in Spain is since January 1th ERV Europea Seguros de Viaje.  According to the local needs the new Spanish brand ERV its followed by its previous name for a transitional period of two years. Later it will be renamed only ERV just as the rest of our company units with a common goal: to internationalize our business and to be recognized in any part of the world.

Among the rebranding actions our Spanish colleagues have adapted their corporate image to the common guidelines in order to offer the same image in all the countries. Between the tasks they have introduced the new corporate designs updating the image in all internal and external documents, and adapt them to the values​​and personality of the new brand ERV.

The Spanish brand identity now includes ERV logo which shows a stylized globe with a protective crescent and it´s accompanied by its previous name for a transition period of 2 years-according to local market needs. In accordance with the common style, ERV Spain has a refresh and innovative appearance with a modern typography and visual language.

At the same time Spain have worked in all its advertising material adapting it to a common look and feel, and adjusting the messages and communications to the customers and partners. Experience, efficiency, quality, innovation, costumer-oriented are the new brand values​​that we will share like ONE ERV and that Spain is already transmitting since January 1st.

The changes have also come to the website where their customers are already seeing a new look and a new brand: ERV. Moreover the company in Spain has developed an intense PR action to present the brand change to the media: sending press releases to communicate the change which have had a high impact on newspapers and magazines, and collaborations and interviews by the Director General, David Hernández, to give more details to the interesting target.

Among the external communication efforts the company has informed its customers, agents, tour operators and brokers through communication and notification letters. In the internal communication all the employees of ERV Spain have been informed of the change and what it means on our way to our global dimension as ERV: brand values​​and a common identity as a team with global experience that will share synergy to getting stronger internationally.

Finally ERV Spain has also made a change to the image of its offices. The company has changed the decor to wrap them with the look of the new brand ERV.

It has been a gripping and passionate work for all of us!
